Caribbean Basketball The Frenzy
The attention of the greater United States, the basketball Mecca of the universe, along with a few other international countries has recently turned their attention to the Caribbean along with other countries to get talented young prospects into their system to groom for future success. It’s much like the elapsing of markets syndrome facing Global brands like I.E. Coke and Pepsi product lines in America and how those companies look outside of it borders to continue to feed the machine which it has created. So with the attention being turned elsewhere and little or no structure set up to receive such attention; questions of credibility linger greatly. One representative of sports from Caribbean country Jamaica jokingly said "the recent influx of attention to Caribbean talent, if not put in the hands of the right individuals...Would be like throwing candy on a table in a room full of kids? It's all going to dissapear and there will not be any acountability as to where it all went!" So for external representatives and individuals looking at the Caribbean for talented young prospects here is how you wade through “the extras” and get to the heart of the matter.
